Inauguration of six “Stations of Remembrance” in Innere Stadt on October 13, 2025

The meeting point for our tour with the inauguration of new stones in the first district is Sigmund Freud Park next to the Votivkirche.

Until now 49 stations of remembrance have been set  in this district and around 700 throughout Vienna, with more than 2,800 names.

 

Ms. Hammer now introduces the initiators of today’s station.

Representing the district today is   Mrs. Patricia Davis, the deputy District Manager.

 

 


Reichsratsstraße 17:

 

 

This stone commemorates Hanna Rosen, née Flandrak, initiated by Tony Lundy for his grandmother.

 

Tony Lundy and his wife Janet Looker from Canada, Joe and Linda Poras and their daughter Marlo from the USA, Dr. Peter Schwartz, a friend of the family are attending.

Lisa Zeiler, who works in the house, has offered to take care of the stone.

 


Wipplingerstraße 24-26:              

 

 

We remember Regine Gutmann, née Segal; Emma Pollak, née Gutmann; Walter, Lieselotte and Inge Pollak.

 

This was done on the initiative of Simon Wagner for his great-grandmother, grandparents and aunts.

We welcome Simon Wagner from Great Britain and his wife Annette with their daughter Rebecca and her partner Jasper Panten, his son Daniel with his partner Frances Towers.
Also Mark Wagner, Simon’s brother from Israel with his partner Ellen Graber and their daughters Avital and Nitzan Wagner.

This stone commemorates Jakob Ihr.

 

It was initiated by Sybille Ihr for her grandfather.

 

Mrs. Sybille Ihr is here today with her husband Gottfried Gamperl and her mother Monika Ihr, the daughter of Jakob from Salzburg.
With her daughter Luna Ceto, Jakob’s great-granddaughter from Berlin and
from Switzerland Erwin Ihr, a nephew of Jakob .

This stone commemorates: Julius Hirsch; Johanna Thal; Frederick Hirsch and David Hurst.
