Ceremonial opening of five Stations of Remembrance through Döbling, Mai 2025
We begin todays opening in Beethovenpark in Vienna’s 19th district on monday the 5th of May. Ms. Roswitha Hammer welcomes all those present, introduces the stations and the relatives involved. The district is represented today by District Councillor and head of the cultural commission Daniela Kresse. Also the Vice head of the district Thomas Mader and other district councellors are there.
Langackergassse 37:
We remember Otto and Charlotte Rabl, née Grün and Charlotte Abeles.
Tricia Parry, Charlotte and Otto’s granddaughter, is here with her husband Robert. We also welcome her sister Angela King and her daughter Rachel Bolton-King – Charlotte and Otto’s great-granddaughter.
Leidesdorfgasse 4A:
We commemorate Ida and Lisl Fischmann.
Great-grandson Philip Shapiro, his mother Constance and his sister Elena honor Philip’s great-grandmother and great-aunt.
Anton and Chaje Sure Ganset also lived in this house and were murdered in the Holocaust.
Kreindlgasse 26:
We commemorate Rosa Chavanne.
Rosa Chavanne was the first wife of Renate Zaucher’s great-uncle. This stone was laid on the initiative of Dr. Tobias Zauscher and his mother. Renate, Roderich and son Dr. Tobias Zauscher from Germany accompany the opening of this stone.
Richard Bum and Rudolf Korngrün also lived in this house and were murdered in the Holocaust.
Hasenauerstraße 28:
Stone for the Fürth family.
The Fürth family were former residents of this house, the stone was initiated by the current resident Dr. Andree Wilhelm-Mitteräcker.
Hermann-Pacher-Gasse 12:
Stone for Marianne, Peter and Georg Rubicek.
This stone is inaugurated exclusively in a family setting.
