Ceremonial opening of the 19th part of the Path of Remembrance through Leopoldstadt, Part 2, on Sunday, September 14, 2025
Roswitha Hammer opens today’s Path of Remembrance 0n the green area in front of Sportklubstraße 2. More than 70 people have come to commemorate together.
The Avanim group, currently consisting of Daliah Hindler, Christoph Kögler, Karin Waniek, and Agnes Riha, provides the musical accompaniment for the event with the songs Mir lebn ejbig, Mayn Rueplats and schtil, die nacht ist ojsgesternt.
Ms. Roswitha Hammer welcomes everyone present and announces the schedule for the day. She introduces the association “Steine der Erinnerung” (Stones of Remembrance) and its work, and gives a special welcome to relatives who have traveled from the USA, Great Britain, Israel, France, Monaco, and Austria. She introduces all the initiators of the new stones. More than 70 people are here today, who are also welcomed by the head of the district Alexander Nikolai.

This stone is for Hermine Goldstein, Chane Edelmann, and Leon Raymond Schmorak.
The initiative to lay this stone came from great-grandson John Dyson from Great Britain. His wife Jaqueline and daughter Michelle Hall are here with him.
An incredible 47 family members from England, Scotland, Israel, and Monaco have come to Vienna.
Helene Dessort from France commemorates her grandfather Leon Raymond Schmorak and her great-grandmother Chane Edelmann.

This stone is for Elsa, Albert, Gertrude, and Josef Braun.
The initiative to install the stone came from Yvette Pintar from the USA. We welcome her husband Peter Pintar and their children Ethan and Stella Pintar.

This stone is for Reijzel and Berl Gehlberd.
The initiative to lay the stone was taken by Ryan Lilienthal from the USA. Alongside him, we welcome:

This stone is for Klara Nagler and Julius Nagler.
The initiative came from Hilary Haber. She traveled here from the USA with her children Rose and James. Also here are Dr. Jerry Nagler, grandson of Klara and Julius, with his son Ely and his sister Dr. Evelyn Moschetta, a Holocaust survivor.

This stone is for Rachela Lustmann and Tolcze Lustmann.
This stone setting was initiated by Alexander Lustmann. He is here with his family from Israel and Great Britain.
