Ceremonial opening of the 20th section of the Path of Remembrance through Leopoldstadt on Sunday, May 03, 2026
At the Karmelitermarkt, Roswitha Hammer opens today’s Path of Remembrance. More than 70 people have come to commemorate together.

The group Avanim – comprising Daliah Hindler, Christoph Kögler, Karin Waniek and Agnes Riha – provide the musical accompaniment for the event with the songs ‘Barcheinu Avinu’, ‘Volt ich gehat kojech’ and ‘Ale Brider’.

Ms Roswitha Hammer welcomes everyone present and outlines the programme for the day. She introduces the ‘Steine der Erinnerung’ association and its work, and extends a special welcome to the relatives who have travelled from Australia, Germany, Israel, the USA and Austria.
