Tim and Tom Oberkofler, nephews of Claudia Barton, along with pastor Mag. Willy Thaler unveiled the memorial plaque
On June 5, 2009, at 6 pm on the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the Protestant Parish Am Tabor unveiled a plaque commemorating the fate of the local Jewish population as an initiative for the “Long Night of the Churches”.
Claudia Barton, the initiator of the plaque, explained her motivation: “I was always interested in the role of our parish during the time of the National Socialists, all the more since most of the documents from this period have disappeared. We therefore decided to put up a memorial plaque to honour our Jewish fellow citizens on this important occasion for our Parish. Parish Bishop, Dr. Michael Bünker, was also in attendance. ”
